Product Introduction

Determining optimum twist is critical for yarn physical characteristics. Yarns with low twist counts produce increased softness for knitting and warmth, while higher twist counts provide additional tensile strength. However, maximum tensile strength decreases if the twist angle exceeds the desired amount.

The SBT331A Electronic Digital Twist Tester meets international standards for measuring both untwist/retwist and direct rotational counting methods, offering advanced technology that is easy to use and cost-effective.

Applications

Designed to determine yarn twist in single or plied yarns using quadrant type with auto stop & reverse for conventional or untwist/retwist methods.

Test Procedure
  1. Select the appropriate method/mode
  2. Clamp yarn between two clamps
  3. Select 'S' or 'Z' key based on twist direction
  4. Set stopper at approximately 50% of expected elongation
  5. Press 'START' key to initiate motor
  6. Motor untwists yarn while LCD display counts twists
